ETIEBET APPLAUDS FESTUS’ INFRASTRUCTURAL DEVELOPMENT STRIDES

Former Minister of Petroleum, Atuekong Don Etiebet, has lauded the Executive Chairman of Oruk Anam Local Government, Rt. Hon. (Elder) Sunday Festus, for his unprecedented achievements within the first 100 days in office.  Etiebet who visited the Council secretariat recently was marveled at the unique change.

The elated former Minister was visibly wowed by the aesthetic improvements which include remodeled walkways, well-manicured landscaping, upgraded fencing, a newly installed modern gate, and vibrant painting of the council fences that has given the secretariat a fresh inviting look.

The Elder Statesman in his remarks said, “this is exemplary leadership in action, in such a short period, you have set a new benchmark for governance. It is clear that Oruk Anam is in capable hands.

In his response, Rt. Hon. (Elder) Sunday Festus expressed his heartfelt appreciation for the commendation, emphasizing his dedication to the ASSURED agenda. “When I took office, I made a promise to usher in a new dawn for Oruk Anam, a promise rooted in action, not words. These visible changes reflect our commitment to delivering on that vision,” he stated.

He further highlighted the projects undertaken during his 100 days, including the rehabilitation of council facilities, improved welfare for staff, and initiatives aimed at enhancing education, agriculture, and healthcare.

“This administration is not about empty promises, it is about sustainable progress that touches every life in Oruk Anam. We are building a legacy that future generations can be proud of,” he added.He also called on stakeholders to continue their support, assuring them that this is only the beginning. “With the collective effort of our people, we will achieve even greater milestones. My vision is clear, to make Oruk Anam a home of excellence in Akwa Ibom State.”
